On October the 14th, we organised our fourth consecutive bicommunal teacher training at Cyprus Inno, Nicosia, buffer zone area. The event was supported by the EU Representation in Cyprus, the Institute of Engineering and Technology (Cyprus Local Branch) and UNFICYP. It was co-organised by Mathisis.org and Masterkids.
In total, 45 teachers (Greek and Turkish Cypriots) participated in the event. Guest speaker on AI in Education was the academic Dr Muezzer Nat, a prominent computer scientist. The first half of the day was devoted to presenting EU CodeWeek and how to get involved, AI in Education presentation by Dr Nat, as well as programming resources and activitties. Mr Mert Balin presented our Science Fair, a bicommunal end-of-year event. After the break, two workshops took place: one using Scrath 3.0 and AI extensions and the second, using AI for image creation and prospects of using it in the classroom for story telling. The day ended with a round table discussion on the topics of AI in education.
